Build the platform that
justice runs on.

We're assembling the founding team for Sherlock — an AI-native justice intelligence platform built on Human Presence Intelligence. Built for law enforcement, courts, and prosecution. This is not a software job. It's a mission with a codebase.

The work is real.
The stakes are higher.

Law enforcement officers spend more time on paperwork than on the work they trained for. Warrants take hours when they should take minutes. Evidence documentation happens on notecards. Judges wait for faxes.

Sherlock exists to change that — built on a principle we call Human Presence Intelligence. Technology should disappear into the background. The human should re-emerge in the foreground. The officer still decides. The judge still signs. The detective still connects the dots. We remove every obstacle between them and the work.

The platform we're building will be used in high-stakes, life-and-death situations. It has to work. If you want to build software that matters — not to a consumer vertical, not to an ad network — but to the people who keep communities safe and the courts that hold everyone accountable, this is where you belong.

Human Presence Intelligence

Everything we build is grounded in one principle: technology should disappear into the background so the human can re-emerge in the foreground. Where AI automates, Human Presence Intelligence augments. The officer decides. The judge signs. The detective closes the case. We build the infrastructure that makes that possible.

Founding Equity in be.

You're not joining a feature team. You're joining the founding team of a platform company. Your equity is in be. — the parent — not just Sherlock. That means Doogie, Bizie, and everything that follows is part of your upside.

Builder's Autonomy

No legacy codebase. No inherited architecture. No 'how we've always done it.' You're making the calls that define how this platform works — and you're accountable to users whose workflows depend on getting it right.

Mission You Can See

Every warrant filed faster. Every evidence chain documented correctly. Every officer who goes home instead of staying late on paperwork. The impact of what you build is measurable, immediate, and real.

We're not hiring for
experience that doesn't exist yet.

No one has built a Sherlock before. There's no talent pool of engineers with law enforcement AI experience, no designers who've shipped court-facing workflows, no architects with justice intelligence under their belt. If you're waiting for that candidate, you'll wait forever.

What we hire for is builder's instinct and learning velocity. Can you take a complex, high-stakes domain you've never worked in and figure out how it works — fast? Can you sit across from a detective, listen to how they think about warrant evidence, and translate that into a system architecture? Do you ship things and improve them, or do you wait until they're perfect?

Our guiding principle is Human Presence Intelligence— the idea that technology should augment human judgment, not replace it. That principle shapes what we build and who we hire. We're looking for people who instinctively ask: does this make the human more capable, or does it just automate them away? The right answer, every time, is the former.

Domain expertise in law enforcement is not the filter. Curiosity, speed, and the ability to build something from first principles — that's the filter.

Six founding positions.
Real ownership, real equity.

We're building the founding team for Sherlock Studio. These are not standard job descriptions. Each role is a founding position with real ownership, real accountability, and real equity.

Principal Architect

EngineeringFoundingRemote-Friendly

You'll design the system that law enforcement agencies trust with their most sensitive case data. That means multi-tenant architecture, CJIS compliance by design, real-time collaboration infrastructure, and an AI pipeline that grows with the platform. You're not inheriting a codebase — you're defining it.

You bring

A track record of architecting production systems under security, compliance, or scale constraints. You can explain a database schema to a detective and a warrant workflow to an engineer — and both conversations go well.

Apply for this role

Senior Full-Stack Engineer — AI & Backend

EngineeringFoundingRemote-Friendly

You'll build the AI-powered core of Sherlock — the document authoring engine, the warrant workflow system, the intelligence layer that surfaces the right information at the right moment. The system parses legal documents, hydrates templates, runs in secure government infrastructure, and has to be right every time.

You bring

5+ years building production backend systems. Experience with AI/ML integration, document generation, or regulated industry tech is a strong plus.

Apply for this role

Senior Full-Stack Engineer — Frontend & Mobile

EngineeringFoundingRemote-Friendly

You'll build the interfaces that officers use in the field, detectives use at their desk, and judges use from the bench. The Yard, the Warrants Toolkit, Field Mobile, Hey Sherlock — this is your canvas. The users are professionals in high-stress environments. The UX has to be fast, accurate, and trustworthy.

You bring

Strong React and mobile experience. Offline-capable PWA architecture. You care about how things feel, not just whether they work.

Apply for this role

Experience Designer

DesignFoundingRemote-Friendly

Every interaction has to be obvious under pressure. You'll build the design system, own the product's visual language, and work directly with law enforcement advisors to validate every workflow before it ships.

You bring

Complex workflow application design experience. Design systems. Figma. You know when to simplify and when complexity is the honest answer.

Apply for this role

DevSecOps Engineer

EngineeringFoundingRemote-Friendly

Sherlock runs on AWS GovCloud. CJIS compliance is not optional — it's the baseline. You'll own the infrastructure, security posture, CI/CD pipeline, and audit logging that lets agencies trust us with their most sensitive data.

You bring

Production experience with GovCloud, FedRAMP, or CJIS environments. You think in threat models, not just deployment pipelines.

Apply for this role

Studio Director — Product

ProductFoundingPhoenix, AZ Preferred

The Studio Director owns the product vision for Sherlock Studio — translating law enforcement workflows, judicial requirements, and prosecution needs into a roadmap the team can build.

You bring

A track record shipping complex enterprise or public-sector products. Law enforcement or legal domain experience is a genuine advantage.
